Kicking off the Tribeca Film Festival this year is Live From New York!, the full-length documentary that takes a magnifying glass to Saturday Night Live‘s forty years on the air.
The first official trailer just hit the web, a few days ahead of its premiere in New York on Wednesday and before it hits select theaters on June 12. It will feature interviews with many of the shows stars and delve into the huge cultural impact SNL has had. This is the show that derailed a vice presidential candidate and turned a sitting president with solid athletic cred into a bumbling clutz. Go ahead and call it irrelevant. Or perhaps you’d like to pull out the old “SNL hasn’t been funny since…” chestnut which only proves that you’re still watching it.
