The Tom Cruise era of The Mummy continues to move along with mummy-esque determination t0ward a movie theater near you. It’s a brand of reboot we’re still trying to wrap our heads around (not that we’re not optimistic) and thankfully there’s now a set photo to confirm this motion picture is coming our way.
Annabelle Wallis, who you might know from Peaky Blinders, also stars in the film and she happily shared a pic featuring herself, Cruise, Jake Johnson and Courtney B. Vance from Namibia. Presumably the titular mummy is camera shy and enjoying a Sprite just outside the snap.

Everyone appears to be having a lovely time, so that’s a big positive.
There’s a bit of pressure for The Mummy to perform at the box office when it shows up next June. Not only is it a colossal blockbuster featuring Tom Cruise, but Universal is looking to build a cinematic monster universe. This world be a movie realm featuring Johnny Depp as The Invisible Man, Russell Crowe as Dr. Jekyll (he’ll be popping by The Mummy) and Javier Bardem potentially playing Frankenstein. If The Mummy tanks, it might derail some of those plans. Even worse? It could kill the chances of Cruise starring in a reboot of Encino Man.
