Right now seems to be a pretty good time to be in the Tom Hiddleston business, especially considering the strong rumors that the next person to don the immaculately-tailored suit of James Bond could be him. There is a lot more to Hiddleston than simply that of action movie star (or, in the case of Thor, villain), as we have been able to see in AMC and BBC’s The Night Manager. Still, he’s remembered for his iconic performances as that weasel Loki in the Thor films and fans are salivating at the thought of seeing him in Thor: Ragnarok.
At a recent panel at Wizard World Philadelphia, Hiddleston participated in a Q&A, ScreenCrush reports, and touched upon a few of these pressing topics. While we know that he’ll reprise his role as Loki in Thor: Ragnarok, his enthusiasm for the role has been in question, but he seems excited to bring something new to the table while still being that mischievous Loki.
“What I’m interested in really is how his attitudes have changed. While Thor was away with his buddies fighting a computer, and uh, I’ll think you’ll see it’s, there is all sorts of interesting things. I’m four yeas older and Chris is four years older, and there will just be new things we find in it. The most exciting thing about him is that he is always a trickster. It is trying to find new ways for him to be mischievous, because I love doing that.”
As for Hiddleston with a Walther PPK in hand as Bond, that is another story altogether. “There’s not much that I can say that I haven’t already said, but I know… your guess is as good as mine to be honest,” he explained. So while everyone believes him to be a lock — and he may be — the decision isn’t final just yet.
