Vin Diesel has never been shy about expressing his feelings. That’s simply the way the man is. Diesel has always been public about the hurt he’s felt after the loss of co-star and friend Paul Walker and naturally Diesel made a point to celebrate the actor’s memory at Saturday’s world premiere of the latest Fast and the Furious franchise entry.
Entertainment Weekly reports that before the evening’s screening of The Fate of the Furious, Diesel paid tribute to Walker. In Diesel’s eyes, this new action blockbuster was a product of love.
“We have a lot of great talent in this movie. But there would be no Dwayne Johnson, who we love, there would be no Jason Statham, who we love, there would be no Charlize, who we love, there would be no Scott Eastwood, who we love, there would be no Kurt Russell, who we love, if it wasn’t for the decades of work that my brother Pablo put into this franchise,” shared the actor. “When you see this movie, know that this is from love.”
Diesel served up praise for a lot of praise for his F8 family, but Walker (a.k.a. Pablo) was at the heart of this motion picture.
“I just want you to know, there wasn’t a second we made this movie, not a minute … not a day that went by that we weren’t thinking about our brother, Pablo, and how to bring him into the movie and how to represent him and to make something that he will be proud of. Pablo, I hope you are proud tonight.”
Fate of the Furious arrives in theaters on April 14. Here’s our review.
