Just days after rumors that Marvel’s Inhumans movie may be delayed, Vin Diesel (He is Groot.) comes along to heat things up. Last year, Vin Diesel suggested on Facebook that he may be involved in the Inhumans movie, and we broke down the ways Marvel head Kevin Feige had hinted at wanting Diesel for a live-action role in addition to playing Groot. We thought the most likely candidate would be the non-speaking Inhumans leader Black Bolt. Now Diesel is (perhaps conveniently) stoking those fires again.
In an interview with io9, Diesel reiterated he could play more than one character for Marvel. He added, “We’ve heard a lot of talk about Marvel wanting to have me play a character that doesn’t have my voice. So my voice is used for Groot and my presence is used for the other character.”
So, yeah, that still sounds like he’s hinting at Black Bolt, although he also once hinted he would play The Vision, a role Paul Bettany later played. I think we can all agree what he’s really talking about is donning a duck costume to embody Howard the Duck, as voiced by Seth Green.
