No one likes a corrupt cop. (Well, maybe except those that get something out of the deal.) That’s why it’s always preferential to have sleazy rule-breaking police on the big screen rather than in real life.
The latest cinematic offering from The Guard mastermind John Michael McDonagh appears to be one big ol’ above the law dark comedy joyride if this freshly released trailer is anything to go by. The film centers are two corrupt cops (Alexander Skarsgård, Michael Peña) that make up in shamelessness what they lack in morals. They indulge in bribery, drugs and sassmouth language, but it’s not all smooth sailing and mime-based vehicular homicide for the duo. Bad things are on the horizon. Mind you, Paul Reiser is in this and that’s definitely not a bad thing.
“Think Bad Lieutenant meets The Three Stooges,” wrote our Vince Mancini when he reviewed the film back in March. The trailer that we have nestled at the top of the page sure as sugar backs that up. (Salty language ahoy!) Embrace the vulgarity and give it a gander. The film is set to arrive in the U.K. on October 7, although a date on this side of the pond still needs to be ironed out.
