He was only 14 at the time, but Neil Patrick Harris was already on his way to becoming a star. At the 1989 Golden Globes, NPH was nominated for his performance in Clara’s Heart, a film starring Whoopi Goldberg — it was also his first ever performance in anything. NPH didn’t win the best supporting actor award, but it would be the first of four Golden Globe nominations for the multi-hyphenated entertainer.
Sure, Harris is hosting the Oscars now, but winning a Golden Globe is better than a hosting gig. I think. Hmmm…maybe not. Mickey Rourke’s career didn’t necessarily skyrocket after winning his Globe.
