Shake and bake! It’s been eight long years since we last saw Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly together on the big screen, but fans of the Tallegdea Nights and Step Brothers duo shall wait no more. The pair signed on to co-star in Holmes & Watson, a Sony Pictures comedy set to begin filming this November. The third movie co-starring the duo is helmed by Ethan Cohen (Tropic Thunder, Get Hard) and will put a PG-13 comedy spin on Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes tales. According to Deadline, the pair were trying to get back on the big screen together for years, but either their schedules didn’t quite match up, or the project wasn’t right. Luckily, ‘Night Hawk’ and ‘Dragon’ have found themselves a worthwhile script, and plenty of room for activities.

The studio originally bought the script with Ferrell attached to do the movie with Sacha Baron Cohen, who costarred with Ferrell and Reilly in Talladega Nights. That stalled. The project came back together very quickly over the past few weeks under production president Sanford Panitch and chief Tom Rothman; when scheduling slots opened for all parties, Sony seized the moment. They are planning to go into production right after Thanksgiving.

Deadline reports Ferrell will play the Holmes role in the film, while Reilly will be his sidekick, Watson. If you ask us, this seems like the perfect role for two guys that go together like cocaine and waffles, Chinese food and chocolate pudding, and peanut butter and ladies.
