Last night was the 94th annual National Christmas Tree lighting ceremony, and of course President Obama enlisted the best and brightest in our country to perform: Chance The Rapper. Obama has previously expressed his appreciation for Chance and revealed recently that they’ve known each other forever — Chicago connections run deep. But even if they’d never met, I’m guessing that Chance would still be a candidate for this special, final event for Obama and his family. His daughter Sasha is clearly a fan.
For the event, Chance did a special version of “Sunday Candy” — which means he said “butt” instead of “ass” — backed by Nico Segal and the Social Experiment including Donnie Trumpet and Jamilia Woods. That’s above. At the end of the night, President Obama led the entire crew in a spirited take on “Jingle Bells,” and while he doesn’t drop any bars, he definitely manages to keep the melody in tune. Watch that below.

One thing is for sure, America is going to miss the unlikely friendship between their president and everybody’s favorite positive force in rap.
