Jeezy “could’ve stopped at 101” but where’s the fun in that? Thank goodness he didn’t and he’s continued giving us an unlimited array of tales from the trap. And now, Mr. Trap or Die is back ready to release the third volume of his celebrated mixtape series by sharing “Bout That” with Lil Wayne.
Nothing new under the sun here as Jeezy’s been nothing but consistent over his past couple of outings. “Bout That” is a resume check for both him and Tunechi as they let people know how long they’ve been at this. Pastor Young reminds everyone he opened the door for trap talk and Weezy channels his Louisianimal spirit. The booming bassline, repeatable hook and drug dealing references are all thrown in the Pyrex and comeback for another ride-ready number from Snowman. The biggest surprise may be that we may be able to stop saying “Lil Wayne is back” after he comes with both guns blazing here.
“Jumped off the porch at eleven
B*tch, I been bout it
I’m gang gang i been solid
Go Bin Laden on anybody
Talkin all that sh*t
And we gone have to talk to you in private”
Trap or Die 3 is out this Friday, October 28 and pre-orders are currently up on iTunes. Take a listen to “Bout That” above along with two other recently released cuts from the project, the French Montana-assisted “Going Crazy” and “G-Wagon,” which sports production by longtime collaborator Shawty Redd.
