When Carson Wentz went down with an injury that would cost him the rest of the 2017 NFL season, virtually everyone wrote the Philadelphia Eagles off as a legitimate Super Bowl contender. It should be noted that the Eagles were in fantastic position at the point of Wentz’s injury but, more than anything, the skepticism centered on backup quarterback Nick Foles and the apparent existence of a defined ceiling with him at the helm.
By now, it is clear that the widespread assumptions were (very) wrong, as Foles was fantastic in the NFC Championship Game before doing everything possible to lead the Eagles to a win over the Patriots in the biggest game of them all. In fact, there is one particular skeptic who will apparently follow through on a promise issued when Foles took over.
John Tirpak tweeted the following on Dec. 10, announcing his intentions should Foles do the unthinkable.
If Foles leads the Eagles to a Super Bowl win I promise I’ll tattoo his face on my entire back

To his credit, Tirpak reappeared after the win, setting up a GoFundMe page (with a $500 goal) geared toward fulfilling his promise to have Foles’ face tattooed on his back. “I’m a man of my word and I plan on following through,” Tirpak said.
Even if the money hasn’t quite flowed in just yet, there is still time and, by the looks of this, he appears sincere. Until the ink actually arrives, there will be a healthy level of doubt as to whether this actually gets done but, at the very least, this scenario is alive and well, leaving plenty to the imagination.
