UFC 204 Results: A Bloody Bisping Outpoints Dan Henderson To Retain His UFC Title

Manchester, England welcomed home Michael Bisping in his first UFC title defense, and it was one for the ages. The brash and bloody Brit barely beat Dan Henderson. I tried to keep the alliteration going there…

—Michael Bisping def. Dan Henderson via unanimous decision. This fight was much closer than that result reads. Check out the full fight recap here, and hats off to Hendo on an unbelievable career.

—Gegard Mousasi def. Vitor Belfort via TKO (round 2). This went how most expected, with Vitor Belfort getting pummeled in just about every fashion by the cool and calm Mousasi. Look at this combo:

—Jimi Manuwa def. Ovince Saint Preux via KO (round 2). Manuwa looked sharp in his 4th fight in 3 years. He shook off the rust since being on the shelf for the last year with injuries, then picked apart OSP until he left him with a stanky leg.

—Stefan Struve def. Daniel Omielańczuk via d’arce choke submission (round 2). Struve was still frustrating to watch by being the anti-Semmy Schilt in not using his length, but he still got the submission in an admittedly poor performance (that still ended in a sweet submission).

—Mirsad Bektić def. Russell Doane via rear naked choke submission (round 1).

Prelims

—Iuri Alcântara def. Brad Pickett via arm-triangle submission (round 1). It truly doesn’t get better than this:

—Damian Stasiak def. Davey Grant via (brutal) armbar submission (round 3).

—Leon Edwards def. Albert Tumenov via rear naked choke submission (round 3)

—Marc Diakiese def. Łukasz Sajewski via TKO (round 2).

Fight Pass Prelims

—Mike Perry def. Danny Roberts via knockout (round 3). Mike Perry is someone to watch. He’s never seen the judges, and has questionable tattoos. Seemingly the knockout was so violent (and the stoppage so late), we didn’t get a Twitter replay. Hmmmm. This was an early contender for FOTN.

—Leonardo Santos def. Adriano Martins via split-decision.
