Nick Offerman and Kerry Washington will announce the nominees for this year’s Emmy Awards on July 19th at 8:40 a.m. EST, according to Deadline. If the man who plays Ron Swanson doesn’t say his own name when revealing the contenders for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy, which last year included four “Modern Family” cast members, Kurt from “Glee,” and Ducky, I will book a flight to California, find every Academy of Television Arts & Sciences member who didn’t vote for Offerman, and make them funnel Swanson Family Mash Liquor, Joffrey-style, until they choke on their own ignorance. Then I will dance on their graves:
Ahem. I may have gotten carried away there. But still: Swanson 2012. For what it’s worth, here’s what I think the Best Supporting group should look like (with Louis C.K. and H. Jon Benjamin sharing Best Actor):
Nick Offerman, “Parks and Recreation”
Chris Pratt, “Parks and Recreation”
Rob McElhenney, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”
Adam Pally, “Happy Endings”
Max Greenfield, “New Girl”
Jim Rash, “Community”
God damn, it’s tough leaving off Matt Walsh, Donald Glover, Steve Little, and Jason Mantzoukas.
