Update: CBS sitcom programming will be in rerun tonight. A special on the storm will air at 10 p.m. EST.
Scare Tactics (SyFy, 7 p.m.) — The horror-prank show returns with a marathon of all-new episodes, including “Pregnant with a Mutant,” “Blown to Green Peaces,” “Barnacle Boy,” and “Touched by an E.T.” Tracy Morgan is the perfect host for this series — any of those could be Tracy Jordan films.
How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8 p.m.) — “Robin is concerned that Barney’s new wingman is a dog.” Nope, not scraping the bottom of the sitcom plot barrel at all. Unless it’s a dog…WITH A BLOG. Then I’m all for it.
Stephen King’s Storm of the Century (Encore, 8 p.m.) — Well, that’s just insensitive.
2 Broke Girls (CBS, 9:30 p.m.) — Cedric the Entertainer guest stars as Earl’s estranged son who hopes to become a comedian. I’ll skip the easiest joke, and go for the slightly less easy one, instead: bold move of 2 Broke Girls to book the big guest stars before November sweeps.
Revolution (NBC, 10 p.m.) — I wrote this entry last night, just in case the power goes out in Brooklyn, where I live, tomorrow, which is now today. Woah. Anyway, even the idea of going a single day without electricity, let alone the rest of my life, like on Revolution, makes me go a little something something. Within 24 hours, I’d be pulling my hair out and screaming, “EVERY LAST MAN FOR HIMSELF.” Someone would murder me soon after.
LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Denzel Washington on Letterman; Simon Cowell and Britney Spears on Leno; Chris Rock on Kimmel; Tom Hanks on Ferguson; John Goodman and Padma Lakshmi on Fallon; Krysten Ritter, Blake Griffin, and Bob Mould on Conan; Bob Woodruff on Stewart; and Malcolm Gladwell on Colbert.
