The series premiere of Andy Daly’s new Comedy Central show Review was one of the funniest half hours of television I have seen all year, and maybe longer. I had a feeling it was going to be good based on the preview clip the show released last week, in which Daly — in character as life critic Forrest MacNeil — “reviewed” becoming a racist, but even with those lofty expectations, it did not disappoint. Don’t believe me? Read this review. Or this one. Or this one or this one or this one. Between new shows like this and Broad City, returning favorites like Nathan for You, Key & Peele, Drunk History, and Workaholics, and the rapidly improving Kroll Show, Comedy Central is on an insane roll right now.
But anyway, last night. You should watch the whole episode when you have a chance because the first two segments — one on stealing and this one, on addiction — tie back in at the end in a wonderful, dark twist, but if you only have, like, six minutes, here’s the gold. Andy Daly spiraling out of control and ruining his life might my be new favorite thing on television. I mean that in the best way possible.
