Chris Noth — AKA Mr. Big From ‘Sex And The City’ — On Carrie Bradshaw: ‘She Was Such A Whore!’

Today’s fun, completely out of context quote comes from Chris Noth, who — currently starring on The Good Wife — played Sarah Jessica Parker’s on again, off again boyfriend “Big” on Sex and the City. While giving an interview in Australia recently, Noth discussed being typecast and somehow it ended with him calling Carrie Bradshaw a whore. A logical conclusion, obviously.

Even with The Good Wife people accuse me of always playing powerful men. But they’re flawed. Big was powerful because he had a lot of money and he seemed to have the upper hand in the relationship, but emotionally he was a wreck,” he said. “Actually, no: he was what he was. One of the things I tell people is that he never tried to pretend he was anything other than what he was. It was [Carrie] who tried to pretend he was something he wasn’t,” he added.

“He was always honest about himself — he never cheated on her. The relationship just didn’t work, and he went on to get married while she went on to — how many boyfriends did she have? She was such a whore!” he teased. “There’s a misconception that Carrie was a victim of him, and that’s not the case — she was a strong, smart woman.”

As Defamer pointed out, the entire point of Sex and the City was that women can enjoy sex and not be labeled as whores — but that’s kind of besides the point because Noth was clearly joking. Still, men really aren’t allowed to go around calling women whores in this day and age, whether or not they’re being serious and whether or not the person they’re calling a whore is a real person. The only people allowed to affectionately call people whores are other women and the gays. “The more you know.”
