Here's Everything We Know About The Scandal Involving Jennette McCurdy Of Nickelodeon's 'Sam & Cat'

Production has been halted on Nickelodeon’s hit show, Sam & Cat, over some sort of scandal involving its 21-year-old star, Jennette McCurdy (left) — previously of iCarly. Here’s what we know so far: Last month, racy photos of McCurdy wearing skimpy lingerie surfaced online after she made disparaging remarks about Detroit Pistons player Andre Drummond (who once hilariously dunked on Chris Brown) on a podcast, who she had apparently been dating.

So when McCurdy failed to appear at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards show this weekend, everyone assumed she was still in hiding over the racy Photo scandal. NOT THE CASE, said Jennette McCurdy, who tweeted the following after posting a cryptic message online:

Nickelodeon however, in a statement to the NY Daily News about why production was being halted, stated that there were no issues between the network and McCurdy:

“The photos caused no issues between McCurdy and the network, and we have the utmost respect for her,” the rep said.

“We are wrapping up what was an unusually long production cycle of ‘Sam & Cat,’ and everyone is understandably tired,” network officials said in a separate statement.

Sources also have claimed that McCurdy is embroiled in a feud with her Sam & Cat co-star Ariana Grande, who went on to beat her out for the Favorite Actress award Sunday night. TMZ on the other hand, claims to have some insight into the discontent — reporting that it’s all about the almighty dollar:

Our sources say the source of McCurdy’s dissatisfaction is rooted in her paycheck. We’re told the pint-sized star is pissed that Grande makes WAY MORE money than her and she’s been trying to renegotiate her deal … so far to no avail.

The show is one of the most popular on the network, but production has been halted and so far a second season has yet to be ordered.

So that’s probably more information than you needed on a kids show about two roommates who run a babysitting service, but there you go. If it involves racy photos and network feuds with 21-year-olds, we’re on it. Kind of like the Batman of the internet — only maybe nobler?
