Home shopping programming isn’t exactly known for its high-brow banter, but the exchange in the video above — between QVC host Shawn Killinger and designer Isaac Mizrahi — reaches a whole new level of stupid.
“It kind of looks like what the Earth looks like,” begins Treacy, describing the print on one of Mizrahi’s items, “when you’re a bazillion miles away from the planet moon.”
Mizrahi correctly interjects: “The planet moon…”
So Treacy tries again: “Isn’t the moon a star?”
And then, implausibly, Mizrahi corrects her… incorrectly: “The moon is a planet, darling.”
And things only get dumber from there. The facepalm from the model in the background of this shot says it all:
