Forbes has revealed its list of the TV actresses that are making the most cash and the Modern Family star enjoys a nice, comfy perch at the very top. Vergara made a tidy $43 million last year, a total that makes the Knights of Prosperity alum the highest paid small screen actress for five years running. Take that, lady from NBC’s Heartbeat! The money earned by Vergara comes from a combination of her TV salary and her work as a tireless pitchwoman. If there’s a TV in your home, Sofia Vergara is probably on it either shouting something at Jay or selling you a consumer good. Them’s the 2016 rules.
Kaley Cuoco of Big Bang Theory fame sits in in the silver position with $24.5 million in earnings to brag about. Mindy Kaling sprung from eighth place to third place this year with with $15 million, and fourth place featured a tie between Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actress Mariska Hargitay with $14.5 million apiece.
Sadly, Sofia Vergara’s cousin Sandra was not eligible for this list because those maniacs at E! had to cancel Good Work. Granted, she probably wasn’t making a sliver of a fraction of that Sofia money, but we’ll gripe about this whenever we get the chance.
