The high speed chase is a rare beast these days, but there are your rare occurrences. There was the Grand Theft Auto-like one from LA a few weeks ago and the llama chase that took the Internet by storm, but I might argue that this one deserves a place on the list.
There’s a tire flying off of the getaway vehicle, a leap of faith from the highway into a residential neighborhood, and a run in with the family dog. From WPTV:
Miami Gardens police and the Broward County Sheriff’s Office pursued the suspects’ car which struck two vehicles and became disabled at the Gateway Boulevard exit ramp, according to Boynton Beach police.
Officers arrested the passenger who stayed in the car, 33-year-old Glen Jackson, immediately. The driver, 35-year-old Demetrics Brown jumped over a wall, which was captured by a WSVN helicopter.
Boynton Beach Police Officer Joe Crowder and K9 Daxxx captured the man hiding behind a house on Northwest 2nd Court, police say.
The comeuppance at the end is probably icing on the cake. Someone could’ve gotten hurt before that car was brought to a stop, especially once that tire went flying. Having a dog chow down on your arm is deserved at that point, even if he gets a nod for that leap from the highway. That was a full desperation move that almost worked. Check it all out below.
