Franklin & Bash (TNT, 9:00 p.m.) – Don’t look now, but there are some serious Saved by the Bell: Hawaiian Style parallels on this season of Franklin & Bash. Like, real, actual parallels, not just me reading too much into a TV show starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar. I mean, yes, it is that, too. Obviously. But not just that.
The Bridge (FX, 10:00 p.m.) – You know that other cop in the Texas office? The one with the thick mustache and super-twangy Texas accent? I’ve started calling him Lieutenant Gringo. (Related: Do we like this show? I think we do, but let’s hash it out in the comments.)
Spell-Mageddon (ABC Family, 9:00 p.m.) – This is a new show hosted by Alfonso Ribiero where contestants try to spell words while dealing with “distractions.” Part of me hopes this competition ends with a totally unhinged Alfonso Ribiero holding a knife to sheep’s throat and screaming “SPELL ‘CINCINNATI’ OR IT’S CURTAINS FOR MR. FLUFFY.”
Futurama (Comedy Central, 10:00 p.m.) – Bender goes grave-robbing. Bender seems like a fun character to write.
Joe Rogan Questions Everything (Syfy, 10:00 p.m.) – Series premiere. One fun thing about Joe Rogan is that every time I say something like “I think Joe Rogan is the King of the Meatheads,” a million people scream at me about his podcast or whatever. We’re not going to change each others’ minds on this one.
LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Jason Sudeikis is on Letterman; Matt Smith and Teri Polo are on Letterman; Ashton Kutcher and Jayma Mays are on Leno; Hugh Jackman and Natasha Lyonne are on Fallon; and Aaron Paul (DVR ALERT) is on Conan.
