Steph Curry Is Probable For Golden State’s Game Against Washington Tonight

At least one injured Western Conference superstar’s absence seems finite. After missing his team’s loss to the Indiana Pacers on Sunday with a sore right foot, Steph Curry has been upgraded to probable for the Golden State Warriors’ matchup with the Washington Wizards on Tuesday.

Warriors guard Stephen Curry was upgraded to probable that he will play Tuesday at Washington, with his availability being a game-time decision.

Curry said he was still feeling some discomfort in his sore right foot, but would play if he could go through warm-ups without favoring it.

“I’m pretty confident I’ll be able to do that, but we won’t know until tonight,” Curry said after participating in shootaround.

Though Curry stressed the need for league-leading Golden State to get back in the win column during their current six-game road trip, he also said he wouldn’t return to the court until any risk for additional injury to his foot subsided. The Warriors’ next three contests come on the road against Eastern Conference contenders – the Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Toronto Raptors.

The presumptive MVP frontrunner originally sustained the injury during the third quarter of Golden State’s win over the San Antonio Spurs on Friday. Though Curry played the stanza’s remainder, he was clearly limited by a lack of mobility and sat a majority of the fourth quarter until returning for a short stint.

Curry says this minor malady is unconnected to a string of ankle injuries that highlighted his first three seasons in the NBA.

“I hate even when I hear that word,” Curry told the San Francisco Chronicle of ‘ankle’ at yesterday’s walkthrough. “I had such an issue with it. It makes me feel better knowing it’s not that same situation. I’m two years removed from all of that stuff.”

The Warriors and Wizards tip-off at 7:00 EST.
