The Other, Better Spider-Man Musical

Spider-Man reading The Amazing Spider-Man?  BRAAAAAAAM

The writer of “POPE! The Musical” is writing a Spider-Man musical to compete with “Spider-Man: Pump Up The Volume”.  The script is finished, the score is nearly finished, most of the cast is assembled, and they plan to open it at The People’s Improv Theater in New York City.  Assuming they don’t get sued into oblivion, they’ll claim a particularly significant milestone:

Veteran humorist and playwright, Justin Moran, launches “Spiderman Smackdown”, a guerilla theatre project to write, rehearse, and perform a fully realized musical based on the character Spiderman in under 30 days with a budget of $0. Set to open one day before the $65 Million Broadway musical “Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark”, Moran’s musical will be the first Spiderman Musical to officially open in New York City. Somewhere, in a lair far beneath Manhattan, Julie Taymor just asked a henchman to hand her his gun, and then she shot him with it.  Allegedly.
