Tom Hardy Interviewed About Bane, Chris Nolan’s Ludditism

EXCLUSIVE: Bane to team up with obscure Silver Age villain Giraffehead!

Tom Hardy went on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man show to discuss (arguably for the first time) his role as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises.  Carr asks about how Chris Nolan doesn’t have a phone and asks if Bane will “wear a gimp mask” like the version of Bane in Schumacher’s Batman & Robin, to which Hardy replies, “Only if I feel like it.”  He then goes on to say Nolan is “revisiting” the character (translation: it won’t suck).

Hardy also says he has to gain 15 to 30 pounds in the next three months, but he frames the weight amount in terms of stones.  That’s because they don’t have real weight measurements in Britain.  They have to state everything in terms of stones and bowls of porridge and scones.  For example, Tom Hardy currently weighs 12 stone, 2 porridge, 3 scone.  Then the Brits call the money “pounds” because they love irony.  You can read more British facts like these in my new book, “Totally Real Things About Great Britain According To Iowans”.
