The official website for The Amazing Spider-Man has gone live, and they’ve released another set of photos to go with the previous two sets. They’ve also posted the official synopsis and character descriptions which confirm that sequels are probably already approved. They state, “This is the first in a series of movies that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story.” Are there really any sides of this origin story left to cover? I think we get it.
They’ve also changed the name of Irrfan Khan’s character from “Van Adder” to “Dr. Ratha”, we’re guessing because they originally planned to hire a white guy then changed the name when they cast KHAAAAAAAAAAAN! I’m sorry. I’m required to type it that way at least once. Nerd law.
The character descriptions (which may be a bit spoiler-y) are after the jump along with the new photos. The Story

In his journey to put the pieces of his past together he uncovers a secret that his father held… a secret that will ultimately shape his destiny as Spider-Man. This is the first in a series of movies that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story. On July 3rd, 2012, the untold story begins.
