So, Some Kids Went and Broke the World Paper Folding Record in Math Class

Hey, bored at work? Grab a piece of printer paper and try to fold it over more than seven times. Spoiler alert — you won’t be able to do it.

Folding a piece of paper more than seven times was once thought to be a mathematic impossibility, but in recent years clever folks with very large pieces of paper have been able to get up to 12 folds. Well that record’s been broken — one group has managed to fold a piece of paper 13 times. Who achieved this once-thought-impossible task? A bunch of high school students and their math teacher. Yeah. My high school math teacher had a metal plate in his head and re-taught us the same chapter in the textbook over and over all year long. Good times. Anyways, you can check out a video of all the hot teen folding action after the jump…

Congrats kids — this is the most noteworthy thing 80% of you will ever achieve.
