Exclusive Preview: ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’ #3

Injustice: Gods Among Us is one of the most-requested titles that we try out at PAX East. So, as an appetizer, here’s a preview of the next issue of the miniseries establishing the game’s backstory.

For those not following along, the Joker used some fear toxin to trick Superman into throwing a pregnant Lois Lane into space, and then blew up Metropolis with a nuke.

Superman did not take this well, as you might have guessed, and did what Superman losing his mind tends to do: Try and take over the world.

The U.S. military, showing the champion decision-making skills that militaries in comic books so often have, responded by taking his family hostage.

What makes Tom Taylor’s book work, beyond the Elseworlds tone, is the fact that he’s not being simplistic. Villains are as horrified as heroes by what the Joker did. Of course, that’s not going to stop them from causing problems…
