Halfway across the world, the Disney company put on its megalomaniacally huge presentation at CineEurope on Wednesday. Lots of upcoming properties were discussed, including Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Good Dinosaur. However, it was Marvel‘s panel that turned heads — especially since the comic book movie behemoth won’t be attending the San Diego Comic Con in July.
Many properties were discussed, including Captain America: Civil War, which is currently filming in Atlanta. However, it was Doctor Strange that stuck out — especially since it’s set to go into production in London very soon. It’s very early for the Benedict Cumberbatch-starring film, so Marvel had no footage to offer to those in attendance. But they didn’t come empty-handed, as “artist impressions of [Cumberbatch] in the lead role were offered” for viewing.
And then Marvel President and super-producer Kevin Feige went and “said that the actor was perfect for the role” because of the “complicated emotional structure” he brings to the part.
Cumberbatch emotional? Really? I don’t see it.
