Exclusive Preview: Next Week’s ‘New Suicide Squad’ Annual

The Suicide Squad, a team of supervillains, has a simple mission: They’re sent in to do the jobs government agents can’t or won’t do, and in return, they get their freedom. Or at least reduced sentences at Belle Reve. But the flipside of that coin is discovering unpleasant truths about yourself, that maybe you really are as bad as they say. Or in some cases, worse. That’s the theme of the current arc of New Suicide Squad, which is wrapping up with this annual. Sean Ryan and Philippe Briones actually have two teams in play: Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and Black Manta were supposed to be undercover in a splinter group of the League of Assassins, but, well, you’ll see how that’s going in just a minute for Boomerang. And a second team, including Reverse Flash and Harley Quinn, have been sent in to pull them out. But that’s a taller order than you might think, as you’ll see in this preview:DC Comics

To see how it all comes to a head, and if Boomerang manages to get out of that particular pickle jar he’s in, pick up New Suicide Squad Annual #1, out next Wednesday in comics shops and on digital.
