Mark Hamill Cleared Up The Confusion About Some ‘Total BS’ In The Classic ‘Star Wars’

So, Screen Rant posted a top ten video the other day that showcased some of the biggest movie flubs to ever make it on the big screen, and most of them were clear, great choices. One of the films highlighted was the original Star Wars and its multitude of weird Vaseline shots in the desert and Stormtroopers hitting their heads in doorways. All in the film (the original, non-special edition especially).

But one flub they included might not be a flub at all according to Mark Hamill. When Luke returns from (spoiler alert) destroying the Death Star and saving the Rebel Alliance from sure destruction at the end of the film, he apparently jumps off of his X-Wing to greet Princess Leia. The only problem here? He doesn’t call her Leia, he calls her Carrie. At least that’s what Screen Rant (and many others) would have us believe over the years. So to cut to the chase, one fan watched the video and reached out to Mark Hamill online:

And thanks to the power of social media, Hamill actually replied and put an end to this “total BS”:

Dialogue in the scene was dubbed! That means even if he did say Carrie in the scene, it wouldn’t have shown up again in the recording booth. Hamill could be full of it, sure, but he seems to be against BS in all of its forms. I couldn’t see him resorting to it now.

Still, the original video is damn good. Well worth a watch for the Terminator 2 trivia alone. It’s arguably the best line in the film, too.
