‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Already Has A Cautiously Optimistic Honest Trailer

Screen Junkies took a break from their usual honest trailers to create an edited version of the newest Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser. This honest teaser is filled with the usual trepidation about the prequels, speculation about Rey’s parentage, hand-wringing about the absence of Luke, and a good-enough Harrison Ford impression laid over the original trailer.

They conclude with the most obvious truth of all: “We could show you two hours of a monkey washing a cat, and you’d still go see this movie. Twice.”

Wait, does somebody have an extended two-hour version of that GIF of a monkey washing a cat? Because yes, I would see that twice and then buy the DVD for the special features. The monkey’s commentary track would be amazing. The cat’s commentary track is just icey silence, but you can tell the cat is in the room and just glaring at the mic.

Anyway, this teaser can bash the prequels all day long. I’m still optimistic for this movie. Haters gonna hate, and all that.
