'The Dark Knight Rises' In New Featurette, TV Spot, And Pictures

We’ll have to wait until July 20th to watch The Dark Knight Rises, but we have a 13-minute featurette and other assorted goodness to whet our appetites. We’re getting a better sense of what happened between the events in the second movie and this new one.

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. [ENI]

Check out an international TV spot (“Nothing like a little air superiority”), the featurette, and a big batch of photos below. Larger photos are available at /film if you needed a closer look at the picture above, which appears to be Morgan Freeman readying to bang the Jetsons’ robot maid. I wish I could tell you that Rosey fought the good fight, and Lucius Fox let her be. I wish I could tell you that — but Gotham is no fairy-tale world.

Looks like Tom Hardy just walked in on Morgan Freeman tagging the Jetsons’ robot maid.

Some days, you just can’t get rid of Bane’s bomb.
