Just a few weeks ago, critics and fans alike were reveling in how balls-to-the-wall Vision looked in “Age of Ultron.” Finally, comic books were leaving behind the mundane world of science and martial arts for straight-up delicious pulp.
Now is appears DC Entertainment is taking their turn, albeit on the small screen, with the trailer for “DC”s Legends of Tomorrow.”
There is something utterly defiant about a superhero show basically saying, “Yep, we”ve got it all. Insane superpowers, giant robots, immortal villains, TIME TRAVEL. What are you going to do about it? Come at me, bro.”
Sure, some will say The Atom looks like Tony Stark and Scott Lang had a baby (ironic since The Atom pre-dates both Iron Man and Ant-Man). Sure, White Canary in motion looks like Bobbi Morse got a new costume design (and a FANTASTIC one at that). But that”s all just part of the goofy history of Marvel and DC; essentially a Silver Age comics Cold War that pumped out near identical characters.
For anyone suffering from Grit Fatigue™, it looks like the future is such brightly colored camp, we”re gonna need goggle-shades.
