Exclusive clip: Who will beat the ‘American Ninja Warrior’ course?

It turns out “American Ninja Warrior” is tougher than you’d think given all the squishy padding involved. But so far, not one American has conquered the course — even though hundreds have done tough things like run marathons, summited Mount Everest and gotten painful body modifications. That’s right — not one.
Still, that isn’t stopping some hardy souls from trying when the show returns to the air. The season premiere will be on dual networks — it will air on G4 (soon to be the Esquire Network) on June 30 at 9:00 p.m.; then move over to NBC July 1 at 8:00 p.m.
The series follows competitors as they tackle the world”s most difficult obstacle courses in qualifying rounds across the country, culminating in the national finals in Las Vegas. There, they vie for a chance to win a cash prize of $500,000 and the title of American Ninja Warrior. Comedian Matt Iseman returns to the show as host and will be joined this year by former NFL player Akbar Gbaja Biamila. Jenn Brown (ESPN) serves as co-host.
