First trailer for NBC’s ‘Blacklist’ showcases a leering James Spader

NBC’s newly released 2013-2014 schedule finds “The Blacklist” in a place of honor on Monday nights at 10 p.m. after “The Voice,” so it’s no surprise that “The Blacklist” is the first new show to get full NBC teaser treatment.
The thriller from Jon Bokenkamp, John Eisendrath, John Davis and John Fox stars James Spader as a master criminal who turns himself in to the FBI and volunteers to help them catch other master criminals, but only if they let him work exclusively with a new profiler (Megan Boone). The cast is full of people you’ll recognize, including “Dollhouse” veteran Harry Lennix and “Homeland” co-star Diego Klattenhoff.
The pilot was directed by Joe Carnahan and this extended trailer gives it a strong “Silence of the Lambs” meets “White Collar” vibe. It also gives away a ton of plotpoints, so if that kind of thing bothers you, you probably don’t want to watch.
Check out the full teaser reel for “The Blacklist,” which airs on NBC on Monday nights at 10 p.m. starting this fall:
