George Clooney and Alexander Payne talk shooting on ‘The Descendants’ and praise ‘The Wire’

To be honest, I’m normally not a fan of studio created features or interviews edited by them, but after watching this conversation between George Clooney and Alexander Payne the chance to exclusively premiere it was just too hard to turn down.

Clooney, who is an acclaimed director in his own right, and Payne, who is a major film nerd of the highest order (and the best way possible), start off chatting about the shooting style of their new film “The Descendants.” Their conversation then switches to previous experiences with hand held versus dolly, but then takes an intriguing turn into their mutual love for the classic TV series “The Wire” (who knew?).  Clooney got his big break on “E.R.” of course, and this lead to him quizzing Payne for his thoughts on working on HBO’s pilot for “Hung.”  Overall, a pretty fun conversation between two gents who know their stuff and well worth taking three minutes to watch.

You can watch the entire conversation embedded in this post.
