Watch: ‘Peeples” Kerry Washington and Craig Robinson on Kerry’s ‘naughty schoolgirl’ scene

Breaking news alert: Kerry Washington dons a naughty schoolgirl uniform in Tyler Perry’s “Peeples.”

“[Writer/director] Tina [Gordon Chism] wouldn’t let me see her until we shot,” said Craig Robinson of the scene, which sees his character Wade getting a sexy surprise from his fiancee Grace (Washington). So did that help in eliciting a genuine reaction from the actor?

“I think if I’d seen her all day in that, it still would’ve been fine,” Robinson responded to a fit of laughter from Washington.

“I’ve done school girl, I’ve done naughty, but naughty school girl, this would be…the first for that together,” Washington admitted later. Now how’s that for a soundbite?

Other topics discussed during my sit-down with the duo included Robinson’s boisterous opening musical number with of a group of schoolchildren (“He’s like the kid whisperer,” remarked Washington), Washington’s transition from her usual dramatic roles to flat-out comedy (“You just kinda have to give over to it and you’re in,” she said) and their mutual admiration for co-star David Alan Grier, who plays Washington’s straitlaced father Virgil (“He’s the funniest dude on the planet,” gushed Robinson.)
