Well, that was awkward.
Robert Pattinson made his first appearance on national TV since his tabloid drama with Kristen Stewart as he appeared with Jon Stewart on “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central last night. He’s been making headlines on his own recently for his lead stint on David Cronenberg’s new film “Cosmopolis.”
After showing a steamy clip of the film, one of Jon Stewart’s first moves was to put a couple of pints of ice cream in between the two of them. It was obviously time to talk. Or not.
Pattinson revealed that he hadn’t hired a publicist to guide him through any kind of script ahead of the appearance, citing his own cheapness. It could also be that he still doesn’t know yet what to say about his “Twilight” co-star and ex-girlfriend Kristen, who issued a very public apology for cheating on Pattinson with her “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders (who had his own sorries to his wife and children). The comedian refers only to Pattinson’s “break-up,” and the actor doesn’t even mention Kristen by name.
