Watch: Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth in new ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ clips

We knew that the upcoming “Snow White and the Huntsman” would feature Kristen Stewart (“Twilight”)  Charlize Theron, Chris “Thor” Hemsworth, some dwarves and more action than “Mirror Mirror.” But it also offers trolls, horse-punching.

In this revised take on the familiar fairy tale, an imprisoned Snow White (Stewart) escapes from the wicked queen (Theron), who hires the Huntsman (Hemsworth) to track down her down. Commercials vet Rupert Sanders is making his directorial debut on the film. These 7 clips give you an idea of the storyline and the film’s dark medieval look.

1. Meet The Huntsman (above)

I have a feeling this is part of the sequence that introduces us to the Huntsman, the type of rough-and-tumble guy who likes to drink and fight. He even punches a horse, “Blazing Saddles”-style.

2. The Queen meets the Huntsman

We’ve seen this scene before, in which an over-the-top Theron “asks” Hemsworth to find and re-capture the AWOL Snow White. His qualifications? He’s a drunken widower whose resume claims he’s been to the Dark Forest (Is Yahoo! looking for a new CEO?).

3. Snow White and the Huntsman — assemble!

She may not be as powerful as Iron Man or even Black Widow, but Snow definitely has a power over The Huntsman. He was sent to kill her, but he can’t help falling for her.

4. She is THE ONE

Move over, Neo — and Harry Potter, and Anakin and Jet Li and the ten million other movie heroes who have been referred to as “The One” — Snow White is the real The One. The Dwarfs know this because she can’t communicate with a beautiful deer-like creature in the woods. Yup, that’s Bob Hoskins as the main dwarf.

5. Prince William joins the fray

This really is the summer of the arrow. After Katniss Everdeen in “Hunger Games” and Hawkeye in “The Avengers” made bows cool again, “Snow White’s” Prince William carries on the tradition. He’s played by Sam Claflin, who was in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” but don’t hold that against him.

6. Snow and The Huntsman go trollin’

Thor finally meets his match in the form of a giant, prickly-looking forest troll. This scene also reinforces the sense that perhaps Snow has some sort of Dr. Doolittle-like way of communicating with beasts. They’ll face Internet trolls after the film opens.

7. And…action! Snow, The Huntsman and their compatriots confront the queen in her castle, where she orders her glass-men to attack. Again, Theron goes completely over-the-top in her line delivery. Although dialogue doesn’t appear to be this film’s strong suit — action does.

“Snow White and the Huntsman” opens June 1
