‘X-Men’: Jennifer Lawrence is ‘dying’ to come back to series

With apologies to Michael Corleone in The Godfather: Part III, Jennifer Lawrence might describe her run with X-Men by saying, “Just when I thought I was out…they pull me back in.”

The Oscar-winning actress, who last year told MTV that X-Men: Apocalypse would be her last turn as Mystique, seems to have changed her mind…or at least left the door open for a return.

In an interview with Empire, Lawrence explained she”s more than eager to don the blue again. “I am dying to come back,” she said. “I love these movies, I love being in them. I love ensemble movies because it”s not on anyone”s shoulders.”

Whether there”s room for Lawrence, that”s a subject still to be discussed. Director Bryan Singer has reportedly stated that Apocalypse marks the end of a ”natural prequel trilogy” for the superheroes.

The two X-Men movies featuring Lawrence have grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, so there”s certainly some financial incentive to bring her back in the fold. In what might or might not be JLaw's last run as Mystique, X-Men: Apocalypse is slated for a May 27 release.
