menace-ko-diamond

Saturday night saw Hidalgo, Texas getting an under-the-radar UFC Fight Night 94, and like most cards that aren’t hyped to all hell, it had some fun action.

Main Card

—Michael Johnson def. Dustin Poirier via KO (round 1). The lightweight division is still working itself out, and Johnson refuses to go away. This was by far the best performance of his career, and showcased his power against the typically tough Dustin Poirier. What a finish.

—Derek Brunson def. Uriah Hall via TKO (round 1). Hall went down from a nasty Brunson left hand. Hall’s career continues to be a confusing disappointment, while Brunson puts together his 4th TKO win in a row.

—Evan Dunham def. Rick Glenn via unanimous decision. This was a fun little slugfest that was punctuated by an odd little maneuver.

—Roan Carneiro def. Kenny Robertson via split-decision.

—Islam Makhachev def. Chris Wade via unanimous decision.

—Chas Skelly def. Maximo Blanco via anaconda choke submission (round 1). This was the fastest submission in UFC/WEC featherweight history. You have to see this.

Prelims

—Gabriel Benítez def. Sam Sicilia via guillotine choke submission (round 2).

—Belal Muhammad def. Augusto Montaño via TKO (round 3).

—Antônio Carlos Júnior def. Leonardo Augusto Guimarães via rear naked choke submission (round 3).

—José Alberto Quiñonez def. Joey Gomez via unanimous decision.

Fight Pass Prelims
