The House Where Harry Potter Slept Under The Stairs Is Now For Sale

I hate to break it to you, but you’re not a wizard, [your name here]. But you can pretend to live like one. The house where Harry Potter resided with Vernon, Petunia, and that dastardly Dudley Dursley is now for sale. In real life, the 4 Privet Drive address is located at 12 Picket Post Close in Bracknell, Berkshire, about 25 miles from London, and it can be yours for $620,000.

According to the listing, the house, which sold for just under $380,000 in 2010 (in this Galleon-based economy?!), is “situated in a quiet cul-de-sac location” and “has recently undergone complete renovation to an extremely high standard.” Upgrades include a modern fireplace (perfect for burning letters from magical schools) and an owl poop-resistant roof. There’s even the familiar Cupboard Under the Stairs, as seen in 2001’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. If you don’t want to be woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of booming footsteps, though, there are three actual bedrooms.

The house has a small south-facing garden with a new patio. It has one family bathroom and one en-suite for the master bedroom, and has a driveway which could fit two cars. (Via)

And, it goes without saying, one flying motorcycle.
