We don’t know if you’ve heard, but Mark Hamill is kind of the best. Seriously. Between hanging out with costar Daisey Ridley to making his stance on Donald Trump abundantly clear, there’s seemingly nothing to dislike about the guy. He’s also exceptionally friendly on the internet, as evidenced by his always-entertaining Twitter feed, on which he frequently engages on a personal level with his fan base. Yesterday, he tweeted some encouragement towards a fan of his that furthers this reputation in pretty spectacular fashion.

Twitter user and Star Wars fan Jessica Bentley tweeted Hamill a picture of her in a wig resembling Luke Skywalker’s haircut in the original film, asking if he thought she could pull off dressing as Luke despite her gender. Hamill responded in his typically jovial (and wonderfully progressive) tone.

It’s one thing for a performer to encourage fans to cosplay as their characters. That’s awesome, but it’s also far from uncommon. For Hamill to not just approve her costume but also encourage her to break gender norms? That’s truly special. While we certainly can’t promise anything, we’re pretty sure we’ll be seeing some updates on that costume soon enough, and some great Hamill tweets to go with them.
