The city of Cleveland has banned at least 72 different types of weapons from the 1.7 square mile “event zone” surrounding next week’s Republican National Convention. Guns, however, did not make the list.

The Republican National Convention will take place July 18 to 21 at Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena. Donald Trump released his list of convention speakers — which includes all of his family members, as well as Tim Tebow and disgraced presidential candidate Ted Cruz — this morning.

Because Ohio is an open carry state, local officials say that there is no way to legally disallow guns. But according to Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams, rules regarding how to behave while carrying will be enforced. “There are certain things that go along with open carry that that person has to do,” he said. “You can’t menace people, you can’t brandish your weapon.”

Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson told reporters Wednesday, “Our intent is to follow the law. And if the law says you can have open carry, that’s what it says. Whether I agree with it or not is another issue.” Ohio state law permits people to carry guns on public property, whereas no such law exists for tennis balls, water guns, or slingshots.

Other items banned from the event zone include the following: Knives, hatchets, swords, nun chucks, mace, fireworks, grappling hooks, drones, glass bottles, speakers, umbrellas, ice chests, rope, aerosol spray, canned goods, ceramics, hammocks, and light bulbs.
