Weekend Combat Sports Live Discussion: Golovkin Vs Murray And Silva Vs Mir

Hey fight fans, it’s the weekend, so that means it is time to kick back, relax, and watch people beat each other’s brains out! There are two pretty good cards this weekend, so let’s just take a look at what’s on the schedule.

SATURDAY

HBO Boxing: Golovkin vs Murray

Gennady Golovkin, while not the most talked about boxer, is one of the most entertaining fighters currently active. He’s sitting on a 31-0 record, with 28 knockouts and his last 18 fights have all ended before the final round thanks to his devastating punching power. He’s taking on Martin Murray, who is 29-1-1 in Monaco. HBO will be airing the fight starting at 5:45 PM ET, and again at 10:15 PM ET, so you have two options to see Triple G destroy a man’s face.

SUNDAY

UFC Fight Night 61

As always, we’ll be chatting it up for the UFC, but this week’s action comes to us at 8 PM ET on SUNDAY! Bigfoot Silva takes on Frank Mir in a main event of ranked heavyweights, and we’ll be here for every second of it.

The mixed martial arts action kicks off on UFC’s Fight Pass starting at 5:00 PM ET. The prelims will then move to Fox Sports 1 starting at 6:00 PM ET. I’ll certainly be looking forward to Jessica Andrade taking on Marion Reneau in a women’s bantamweight contest.

The main card begins at 8:00 PM ET on Fox Sports 1. There’s Rustam Khabilov taking on Adriano Martins, Edson Barboza fighting Michael Johnson, and the main event, Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva versus Frank Mir in heavyweight action.
