In Bruges dude’s next film gets financing, sounds awesome

Any film where Colin Farrell karate chops a midget I'll watch out of principle, but In Bruges was pretty good to boot.

From what we hear, the movie adaptation of Hunter S.

Here we have the trailer for The Great Fight, which will almost certainly go down as one of the greatest artistic creations of the last thousand years, perhaps million.

YAY! Elite Squad 2 getting a theatrical release.

By | 5 Comments

As you may have gleaned from my not-at-all-hyperbolic review of Elite Squad 2 back at Sundance, which I called "a two-hour Brazilian The Wire on steroids," which "melted my face off and kicked my balls in," I quite liked it.

Rubber, the killer tire movie, is now available on OnDemand & iTunes

By | 15 Comments

Being the mega-important movie blog impresario that I am, I was able to score a screener copy of Rubber, the movie about the psychic tire that explodes peoples' heads, about a week ago.

YES. Rubber, the head-exploding, evil tire movie, has a trailer

True Grit: Still Looks Badass

You nerds can keep your Trons and your gay comic book movies about promise rings from space, True Grit is the movie I'm excited for (trailer here).

Insanely awesome-looking Indian movie 'Robot' has new trailer

By | 17 Comments

India's most expensive film ever made, Endhiran, aka Robot, has a new trailer out, and even though it's not as long as the last one I posted, you better believe I'm posting every scrap of video I can from this insanely badass-looking movie.

True Grit poster don't need no stinkin pictures

If you saw the trailer for the Coen Brothers' True Grit, you probably saw Jeff Bridges wearing an eye patch, firing pistols on horseback and thought, "Hot damn, has there ever been a single image that could sell an entire movie as easily as this one.

Oh Hell Yes. Coen Bros' True Grit has a trailer.

By | 13 Comments

I know it's a total cliché for a person who writes about movies for a living to love the Coen Brothers, but some clichés exist because they're true.  The Coen Brothers are just really godd*mn amazing.  This is the trailer for True Grit (an closer adaptation of the Charles Portis novel, not a remake of the John Wayne movie, in case some punk at the local tavern starts talking crap to you about it), starring Jeff Bridges as a drunken old Sheriff named Rooster Cogburn who helps a 14-year-old girl hunt down her father's killer.

You had me at 'a giant cobra made of robot men slithers around eating cars.'

I never saw I Robot, but having seen this trailer for the Indian film, Endhiran, aka The Robot, which looks a lot like I Robot, I must conclude that American filmmakers could learn a lot from Indian filmmakers.

Building-sized, 3D Inception posters are pretty cool

By | 10 Comments

With The Last Airbender and Knight and Day out of the way, it seems we can now turn our attention to Christopher Nolan's Inception, the only movie of the summer anyone seems to give a sh*t about (here's the latest trailer, here's a featurette).

Leonardo DiCaprio

Inception has a featurette, and I have a boner

I normally don't post behind-the-scenes featurettes, but since Inception is my most (possibly only) anticipated film this summer, I'll make an exception.

The Rum Diary screens in Orange County

A few weeks ago, there was some confusion as to the status of the Johnny Depp-starring Rum Diary movie, written and directed by Bruce Robinson, adapted from the Hunter S.
