Twitter integration is coming to the next version of iOS – Apple’s operating system for iPads, iPod Touches, and iPhones.
This is huge news for Twitter.
Despite a large public awareness of its existence as a service, Twitter is struggling to gain actual usage among normal, every day people the way Facebook already has.
Getting integrated as a built-in feature on Apple’s easy-to-use platform should help in a huge way. Apple has sold about 80 million iPhones – mostly to people who don’t consider themselves early adopters. What’s more, everything Apple touches, it makes easier to use. That’s what Twitter needs.
