Justified (FX, 10 p.m.) — SEASON PREMIERE. The fifth season kicks off tonight, and a familiar face returns (the episode’s title, “A Murder of Crowes” offers a good hint), as Justified spreads out from Kentucky to Florida and Detroit in what looks to be a sterling, sprawling, magnificent season.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Fox, 8:30 p.m.) — It’s been around a month since the last first-run episode of the best new sitcom of the fall, and that’s way too long. Thankfully, Brooklyn Nine-Nine (which shifts to 9:30 p.m. in a few weeks) won’t leave us again until the end of the first season. In tonight’s episode, hard-ass Captain Holt tries to find a home for two puppies. Expect lots of GIFs tomorrow.

New Girl/Mindy Project (Fox, 9 p.m.) — Jess faces a decision about whether to give up teaching or not, and more importantly, it’s not a Jess/Nick episode, which we could use a bit of a break from.

Intelligence (CBS, 9 p.m.) — Josh Holloway’s new procedural kicks off tonight (before moving to its regular Monday slot next week), and I think that Josh pretty much summed up most of our feelings about the show from the Lost alum: “No fish biscuit no care.”

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC, 8 p.m.) — That winter finale pretty much put me off the show until someone lets me know that it’s gotten better. Life’s too short to wait around for this show to find its potential. I’ll wait for the Agent Carter series.

The Goldbergs/Trophy Wife (ABC, 9 p.m.) — The more each of these sitcoms finds their footing, the lower their ratings (especially Trophy Wife). By the time they’re near perfect sitcoms, it’ll be time to cancel them. STUPID NETWORK TELEVISION.

Cougar Town (TBS, 10 p.m.) — And if your night is not already full up on television watching, don’t forget about the season premiere of Cougar Town. They’re returning to the Penny Can well tonight, as the game becomes a global sensation. (Might be one too many Penny Can eps, guys).

Killer Women (ABC, 10 p.m.) — On the one hand, it’s already a very busy night of television, and this looks like another procedural. On the other hand, Tricia Helfer. I’m gonna need a lot of coffee.

LATE NIGHT LISTINGS: Letterman has Joel McHale, Mark Wahlberg visits Leno, Amy Adams and Margot Robbie are on Kimmel, Ferguson has Don Cheadle, Fallon welcomes Ryan Seacrest, Steve Coogan stops by The Daily Show, and Kat Dennings is on Conan.
