Weekend Preview: The Final Season Of ‘Mad Men’ Is Upon Us!

AMC

Kitchen Nightmares (FOX, Friday 8 p.m.) —Sure, there’s new Mad Men, Game of Thrones and Veep on this weekend, but you guys: AMY’S BAKING COMPANY IS BACK! The sixth season premiere revisits Amy and her psychotic husband Samy to catch up and see how they’ve been doing for the past year. To hell with the Super Bowl or the Oscars, THIS is the television event of the year.

Mad Men (AMC, Sunday 10 p.m.) — FINAL SEASON, B*TCHES. Check back to Danger’s roundup of the ten most important questions heading into the final season. I am not caught up on Mad Men however I am going to be working a bourbon event on Sunday, so I will be viewing in spirit.

Game of Thrones (HBO, Sunday 9 p.m.) — After last week’s outstanding premiere, guests start to arrive for Joffrey and Margaery’s wedding in King’s Landing. Meanwhile we catch up with Bran to see just how much he’s aged since Season Three. Will he have a mustache now?

Silicon Valley (HBO, Sunday 10 p.m.) — As Dustin mentioned last week, this series, which was already stellar right out of the gate, is supposed to get even better this week. Also on a sad note, I found out this week that Christopher Evan Welch, who plays the character of Peter Gregory, died just four months before the premiere.

Veep (HBO, Sunday 10:30 p.m.) — Speaking of shows that improve, I’ve seen the first few episodes of Veep this season and somehow it also gets even better. This week Selina visits her campaign headquarters and takes a ride with the Coast Guard, meanwhile Jonah continues to f*ck sh*t up with his new blog. To hold you over, here’s Julia Louis-Dreyfus naked on the cover of Rolling Stone.

Saturday Night Live (NBC, Saturday 11:30 p.m.) — Seth Rogen appears as his third time as host promoting his new film Neighbors with Zac Efron. Ed Sheeran is the musical guest.
