AMC Remembers Chris Hardwick Hasn’t Hosted A ‘Better Call Saul’ Aftershow Yet, Makes The Necessary Fix

Who do you like to hang out with after watching an AMC television offering? The cable network is banking on America’s love affair with Chris Hardwick hosted postgame shows to continue on for a bonus flurry of cable blabs.

It’s been announced that Hardwick will be the host of Talking Saul, a program set to air after Monday’s season two premiere of Better Call Saul and will remerge for the season finale on April 18. From the sounds of things, this two episode offering will sync up nicely with the format of Hardwick’s other Talking programs Talking Dead and Talking Bad, but probably with less talk of zombie carnage and meth. Hmm… We’re going to look dumb if Michael McKean’s Chuck McGill starts eating the living in the premiere, aren’t we?

AMC’s president of original programming and development Joel Stillerman has high hopes for the latest entry into the Talkingverse or whatever you’d like to call it. Here’s what he had to say about Talking Saul in a press release touting the new aftershow:

“The Talking franchise really started as a way to serve the fans by harnessing and providing a focal point for discussion around our original programming, and heading into its second season it’s clear Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould, and everyone associated with Better Call Saul have given rise to both a vibrant fan community and plenty to talk about. We are excited to have Chris Hardwick on board as host to engage the show’s dedicated and loyal fans – many of whom have followed the characters of Saul Goodman and Mike Ehrmantraut since Breaking Bad – in a meaningful and entertaining conversation around the series.”

Monday’s installment of Talking Saul has nabbed the sort of people you’d like to see talk about Better Call Saul. Creators/executive producers Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould are a go for the Talking Saul premiere and so is series star (and general person you like to see anywhere) Bob Odenkirk. We’ll be watching, but will you? Give us your take in the comments.
